Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 4, 2026

LifBol (“the app”, “we”) is a workout tracking app for iPhone and Apple Watch. This policy explains exactly what the app collects, where it goes, and what control you have over it.

Short version: your workout and health data is yours. We store it so it can sync between your devices and survive a reinstall. We do not sell it, we do not use it for advertising, and there are no third-party tracking or analytics SDKs in the app.

1. Who we are

LifBol is operated by Lakhwinder Singh, contactable at support@lifbol.com.

2. What we collect

2.1 Account information

When you sign in with Sign in with Apple, we receive:

2.2 Profile information (optional)

If you complete the profile form, we store your name, age, sex, height, body weight, experience level, and training goal. These are used to calibrate calorie estimates, recovery scoring, and strength calculations. You can leave any of them blank.

2.3 Workout data

Everything you log: exercises, sets, reps, weights, timestamps, warm-up flags, session notes, personal records, and custom exercises you create.

2.4 Apple Health data

With your explicit permission, the app reads the following from HealthKit:

DataUsed for
Heart rateSession intensity, rest-period detection
Heart rate variability (HRV)Recovery score
Resting heart rateRecovery score
Sleep analysisRecovery score, sleep summaries
Active & resting energyCalorie totals
Body mass, body fat %, lean mass, waistBody metrics tracking
WorkoutsAvoiding duplicate imports

With your permission, the app writes back: workouts, active energy, and heart rate — so your LifBol sessions appear in the Health app and close your rings.

You can revoke any of this at any time in Health app → Profile → Privacy → Apps → LifBol. Because of how Apple designs HealthKit, the app cannot detect that you revoked read access — it will simply stop receiving new data.

We never upload your HealthKit data to our servers. It is read on-device to calculate the numbers shown in the app.

2.5 Voice data

If you log sets by voice, your Apple Watch records a short audio clip and sends it to your paired iPhone for transcription.

3. Where your data is stored

3.1 On your devices

Workout data lives in a local database on your iPhone and Apple Watch, and syncs directly between them over Apple’s WatchConnectivity. That sync is device-to-device and does not pass through us.

3.2 On our backup server

So your history survives a lost phone or a reinstall, workout data is backed up to Supabase (our hosted database provider, which runs on Amazon Web Services).

What is backed up: exercise templates, workout sessions, exercises, sets, personal records, and your profile.

What is not backed up: your HealthKit data, and any audio.

Every row is tagged with your user ID and protected by row-level security, so your data is only accessible to your own authenticated account.

4. Third parties

We use as few as possible. There are no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no behavioral tracking in the app. The one exception is crash reporting, described below — it exists purely to tell us when the app breaks, not to observe how you use it.

ServiceWhat it receivesWhen
Apple (Sign in with Apple, HealthKit, Speech)Auth credentials; speech audio if on-device recognition is unavailableAlways (auth); as described above
SupabaseYour workout data and profileAlways, for backup
StravaA workout summary (activity type, duration, and your sets/reps in the description)Only if you explicitly connect Strava and share a workout
SentryCrash and error reports (what code failed and why) — no screenshots, no view contents, no account or health data attachedOnly if the app actually crashes or hits an internal error

4.1 Strava

Strava is entirely optional and off unless you connect it. We request only the activity:write permission — we can post workouts to your Strava account, and we cannot read your Strava activities, profile, or social data. You can disconnect at any time in the app, or revoke access from your Strava account settings.

4.2 Crash and error reporting

LifBol uses Sentry to find out when the app crashes or hits an internal error, so we can fix it. What it does not do:

This only runs in the version of the app distributed via TestFlight/App Store — not during our own local development and testing.

4.3 The “Ask AI” feature

The app can build a text prompt summarizing your training so you can ask an AI chatbot about it.

The app does not send anything to any AI service. It generates the text, shows it to you, and copies it to your clipboard. You choose what to include using checkboxes, and you choose where to paste it. Personal details (age, sex, body weight) and multi-workout history are off by default and only included if you tick them.

Once you paste that text into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any other service, it is governed by that service’s privacy policy, not ours.

5. What we do not do

6. Data retention and deletion

Your data is kept as long as your account exists.

You can delete your account from Settings → Account in the app. This permanently deletes your backed-up data from our servers. Deleting the app from your devices removes the local copy.

Deleting your account does not delete data already written to Apple Health (that is yours, in your Health app, and you control it there), nor anything you previously posted to Strava.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including the EEA/UK under GDPR, and California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing.

Most of this is available directly in the app. For anything else, email support@lifbol.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of in that respect.

8. Children

LifBol is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest on our backup provider is encrypted, and access is restricted per-user by row-level security. On your device, data is protected by iOS’s own file encryption.

No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International transfers

Our backup provider stores data on servers that may be located outside your country, including the United States. By using the app you consent to that transfer.

11. Changes

If we change this policy materially, we will update the date at the top and notify you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
